I’m blogging about why my mother needs to de-stress with a Parachute Advansed Aromatherapy Oil massage for the #StressFreeMom activity at BlogAdda.
Update- Thanks to the readers, the following post proved to be winner in the contest
It has been an exerting but redundant day. The teacher has
made us wait 9 to 6 for a 3 minute presentation. To top that, the night before
hasn't been any idyllic either. We have had no breakfast nor lunch, some of my
friends have to leave the same day so I have to settle their luggage and see
them off. Maybe you have guessed my predicament, maybe mothers always do. There
is some uncanny connection we have between us. It is ineffable really, as if
there is some beacon that lights up whenever your kids are down.
After settling everything, I drift to sleep without knowing when. You call my phone. I don't pick up. It's set on silent mode, somewhat thoughtfully for the presentation. You feel something fishy. A few more unanswered calls and you start to worry. You call my friends but they have already left for their homes. The worry is panic now. By the time I get up, the phone has already rung (or not rung) 44 times. I call you and try to explain, but it’s not actually possible to do that. I understand your worry but underestimate the extent. “You will get it when you become a parent and your kid lives 700 kms. away from you”, you tell me. I know you are right but truth is that I’m your kid now and being that, I want you to take it easy sometimes, “take a chill-pill” as we call it these days. But you are inexorable. There are times like these when I feel like giving you a soothing and serening head massage. The song below plays in my head and for a moment I actually feel it can be a panacea for all that it talks about.
Maybe you are right at your place in being the ‘worrier’ you are. But sometimes you need to give up on petty things. There are already things I know in our lives that are so beyond our control that we can’t help stress over them. Why create tensions of our own? Also, is it really any good to worry over those other things? You yourself taught me to let go off certain things in life so as to make it less disheartening. Maybe it’s time to really apply those things, both for me and you.
I love you too much to create problems for you and would like to even solve them for you with everything in my power. That said, I want you to drop this stress like the bad habit it is. Now that I too am home, I intend to really give you that ‘champi’ I feel you dearly deserve.
